Neal Pears Memorial Cross Event – 20 Oct 19

Our last planned event of the year is coming up which will see over 350 riders age 5 to 70+ from around the region coming to the cyclocross mecca that is Mistley Woods.

This year the event is being run by the club as the Neil Pears Memorial Cross following Neil’s sad departure earlier this year. A bit of digging has found that this event has been running at the same location by the Rovers for over 50 years. Many of those organised by Neil.

Peter Hall the organiser and I have decided that it has become necessary to make certain that volunteering roles are fulfilled for the event so that we can run the event to our normal high standard. We are very happy to have your help even if it is a short period of the day

The google sheet link mailed to all members indicates the roles that are required starting on Race Day Sunday 20 October 2019. If you are able to fulfil any of the positions that are empty please can you fill in your name against the appropriate job role.

Help will, of course, be given to new volunteers. Each role is relatively simple. The roles do need to be filled to be certain that the event will run smoothly. New requirements have meant that we need more course marshalls this year.

We also have plenty of opportunity for those of you who love to bake.
We need something in the region of 25 cakes for this really popular event, which is well known for Julie’s quality produce.
We need some help this year to provide the cakes that we sell in the kitchen.
If you can bake something for the event please can you let us know via email or facebook so that we can plan how to deliver this part of the event?

Thanks for your help in advance.
