Road Circuit Races – Email from Greg with the following content.

“I am going to cancel the Tony Asplin Memorial road race (17th August 2025) due to lack of entries (only 3 received to date) plus the fact I am having to travel overseas again for business from this Friday for 2 weeks.

The Becontree Wheelers will still aim to have their event on the morning of 17th August using the same circuit. The ‘over utilization’ of the Birch circuit is a subject that BC Eastern Region will be looking into for next season.

My aim now is to put all our focus into the Centurion / back-to-school races at the Northern Gateway which is scheduled for Sunday 31st August.

Thinking toward next season, the Centurion event later this month may be the last one that I’ll organise for a while due to work and travel commitments in 2026……”

Action: Nick will speak to Greg regarding any costs and booking that Becontree will now have to fund if their race goes ahead.

NOTE added 20th August 2025: Since the meeting the Becontree race has been cancelled.

Sportive Boxted Village Hall – Paul

26th October confirmed. 100k & 70k. No further updates at present as it is still a bit early
