The Colchester Rovers Youth Group is dedicated to developing young cyclists in Colchester and the surrounding areas. Colchester Rovers Cycling Club was founded in 1891, so we aren’t just a here today and gone tomorrow club.
The Youth Group is passionate about providing opportunities for young cyclists to turn their skills into a sport.
We have a large active youth section and cover all cycling disciplines from Road to Cyclocross and Mountain Biking to Grass and Hard Track.
Cycling Accreditation & Coaching
Colchester Rovers Cycle Club Youth Group is constantly developing both in the opportunities it offers young people and also in the group of dedicated coaches and volunteers that we have attracted. We currently have 10 British Cycling accredited coaches, 3 Level 2 and 7 Level 1, with more in the pipeline, as well as lots of volunteers.
The club prides itself in creating an environment suitable for all the family.
The Club is accredited to the British Cycling Go-Ride Scheme and also has the prestigious Club Mark status, the main benefit of this is that the Club receives support from British Cycling regional and national coaches. We are very fortunate in that our young riders have regular access to the new Northern Gateway circuit as well as to the outside cycling velodrome at Welwyn and the indoor Olympic Velodrome at Stratford. We also run Go-Ride events which are ideal for newcomers to cycling at all levels. At the top end of the sport we have seen our young riders go on to achieve major success at a national level and in other sponsored clubs and teams.
We would recommend joining the Colchester Rovers Youth pageon Facebook. This is often the best and easiest place to get up-to-the-minute information on what’s going on.
