Treasurers Report for CRCC accounts and Youth accounts – Maggie

Main and youth accounts sent out.

Membership – Justin

3 new members and 5 renewals. 226 members currently. It was discussed that this is more than 100 less than last hear. Maggie asked for suggestions on ways we could address this.

AOB

Reliability ride – Paul and Sandra Meadows

The Reliability Ride raised £550.00 for the charity suggested by Simon, Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. Sandra has spoken to the charity and made a suggestion that the club do this on a Saturday as part of the Saturday club ride so that some members (including Simon and some of the Youth team) could be there to present the cheque.

The committee felt this was a great idea so Sandra will contact the charity again to arrange a date – Sandra to confirm date and time

Road races – Greg Andrews

There are two road races in August.

17th August – Tony Aspin Memorial. Birch circuit

31st August – Centurion/Back to School race. CNG

17th August – The Tony Aspin Memorial to be held on the Birch circuit. On the same day there will also be a race organised by Becontree.

Sally Withey (BC Eastern Region Development Officer) has asked for a risk assessment for the section between HQ and the start. Maggie suggested this may be as many risk assessments are needing to be redone by BC as as they were previously carried out by a private company. Pete from the Becontree cycling club is looking into this.

31st August – Centurion race

Greg has submitted the race to BC and it is pending approval

He has kept the price for children and youth the same but slightly increased the adult price.

Action: Greg to create a google sheet to request marshals and helpers for both events

Action: Greg to let Magge know if he needs any help in the preparation whilst he is travelling with work

Safe guarding youth – Jacqui & Simon

2 things added to the youth safeguarding terms.

  1. Only parents are to hold the bikes
  2. Children are not to go back to the container alone

Simon and Jacqui confirmed that the Safeguarding leaflet is nearly done, it just needs some photographs. Action: Simon to complete the leaflet with photos

Safeguarding DBS Jacqui

Jacqui currently has 18 DBS. There are no new DBS this month.

TT – Matt Haigh

TT are all going well.

Calendars still need updating. Action: Justin to resent the link.

Quote for new numbers was £157.80. Action: Matt to purchase these and send the invoice/receipt to Maggie

Youth Development – Simon Wilson

A successful introductory grass track session was held on Monday 28th April with approx. 20 attending.

BC have recommended that the grass track bikes should be looked at by a professional bike mechanic. Simon has spoken with Future Bikes who said they can do this for £150. The committee agreed this was a good idea. Action: Simon to get the container key from Matt so he can give access to Future bikes.

BC have also suggested using a proforma with the conditions and cost of hiring a bike for outside of the usual sessions. BC also suggested charging a deposit. It was decided by the committee that there would remain no charge or deposit.

Dates to note:

29th June – Open grass track event (available via the BC website)

4th June – Youth CX coaching to start

Presentation/Christmas Dinner – Maggie

Marks Tey Mariott Hotel booked for 22nd Nov. Place limited to 100. Over 50 have already confirmed attendance Action: All to continue to promote. Reserving a place is via Maggie.
