The club management team would like to welcome Peter Philips as our new mountain bike leader. Peter has been riding with the club for several years and is well known to many of our members,
During Pete’s time with the Army, he has acted as MTB leader for them. He hopes to engage some of our membership with the muddy side of biking.
Pete is starting to plan activities starting with some regular local off-road social rides and expanding to trips a little further afield to places like Thetford Forest, the Viking trail and even over to Wales for some proper downhill and enduro action.
The aim is to make all these rides great fun whilst aiming them at riders with appropriate skill levels and helping those that want to progress. There will be something for everyone who likes or wants to try MTB.
Pete is hoping to get people racing in the eastern region XC MTB series Mud Sweat & Gears, and will be racing himself. This series has proved very popular for both youth and adult CRCC members in the past. MSG has been the mainstay of our club MTB championships for a number of years. Another series to look out for is the Travers XC MTB series based down in South Essex.
We would like to thank Peter for volunteering for this role and hope that you will engage with Peter as he starts to get MTB activity up an running in the club once again.
