Jack Takes The Series

Jack raced at Lotus Cars Cycle Race League (round 6 of 6) yesterday evening in the Youth C (U12) boys race.

Jack made a very strong start from the off, breaking away in a group of four riders from the rest of the peloton at the start of the first lap.

The lead group rode well together for a few laps extending their lead from the second group of riders.

On the fourth lap Jack sensed that the group was starting to slow, so he decided to attack into the headwind when his closest rival was at the back having just pulled on the front. The group tried to chase Jack but they were caught off guard and couldn’t close the gap. The elastic broke and Jack was away off the front on his own.  Jack continued to pull away from the rest of the field over the remaining four laps, and still managed an impressive sprint to line to claim his 5th win in a row, and in doing so, won the series overall.

Jack finished the eight lap race in a time of 18:20.0 at an average speed of 20.7mph, with the second placed rider coming in almost a minute behind.

Great race, and great tactics. Chapeau Jack 🙌🏼
