Midweek TT Result #1 2023 – Layer 6.8 miles

The result of the first Midweek TT of the 2023 season is detailed below. Thank you to all those who helped to make this event possible Sandra, Nick R, Elaine, Peter & Keith, The event gave the new timing volunteers a chance to get up to speed with the tech. With plenty of events to come, there is lots of opportunity to help the volunteer team.

The conditions were blustery, – Dry, 8°C, East Wind, 11 mph (Gusting 19 mph)

Some Impressive times for an early season event. The Fastest Road Bike was Dan Hall in 5th at 17:41 with a 57-second improvement in more difficult conditions this year compared to the first event in 2022 on the same course.

The winner Jamie Watson was 13 seconds quicker and Chris O’Meara also posted an impressive improvement 14 seconds quicker than the same time last year.

To all those new to TTs, many of the times set here were without special equipment or a TT riding position. There is plenty of opportunity for all to have a go whatever level of rider. with averages varying from 12 – 25 mph. The oldest rider in the field was again over 80 years old.
