Charitable donation in memory of Dr Chris Hall.
On June 20th Colchester Rovers held their monthly club night at Colchester Sports park.
It was extremely poignant evening as Dr Elizabeth Hall was in attendance with her family to accept a cheque for £1000 from the club for St Helenas Hospice here in Colchester in memory of her late husband and long-standing Rover member Dr Chris Hall.
Dr Chris Hall was a local GP for many years and Dr Elizabeth Hall was the first medical director of St Helena Hospice as-well as one of the driving forces behind its inception.
Club chair Maggie Hargreaves said it was the most fitting way as a club to honor Dr Chris and it felt like a full circle moment as Chris spent some time there during his ill health.
Paul Meadows of the Rovers presented Dr Hall with the cheque which was from money raised by the Rovers Reliability ride held earlier in the year organised by Paul and his wife Sandra.
Hall family friend and Rover’s legend Colin White also spoke about the many happy cycling memories over the years he has of his friend riding the roads around Colchester together.
