The Rovers were well represented on Boxing Day at the annual Runners vs Riders event at Friday Woods. This is a very long-standing event on the calendar, dating back to the Second World War, and the riders were keen to regain the title after losing out last year.
As always, the conditions provided an additional challenge to what is already a tough and undulating course, with deep mud, slippery logs and a couple of river crossings!
The youth section got us off to an excellent start with great rides from Elizabeth coming in first, Jacob second, and Archie fifth, with Noah deciding to moonlight as a runner this year!

The main event also saw impressive rides from the Rovers with Isaac coming in first, Dan hot on his heels in second, James fifth, Trevor ninth and Elle-Mae first female cyclist, with lots of other members, past and present, also running or riding.
This is a fabulous event and I can heartily recommend coming along to watch, or take part, next year. Many thanks to Craig Mitchell for organising and Liam (LW Photography) for the photos.
